Hello everyone,

I'm right now sitting in my hotel room overlooking San Fransisco after a long day on the GDC floor.  Now that I've had some time to recoup, I thought that now would be a good time to write about what's been going on and some details on the game.

First, my time at GDC has been great. I've been able to meet with a ton of people and companies wanting to talk about Exanimus. Everyone loves our concept of a horror zombie MMO and all the features that we have planned. I've been meeting with different MMO publications and talking with them about the game. You should start seeing some of those features and publications appearing soon depending on the publication and their release schedule. Outside of meetings and interviews, it has been a very busy week.

Second, the new information about the player class I promised our forum members I would be talking about in this log. We've said that we have the Humans and Zombies, but we have been planning for a third class. This is the class of players that don't want to help anyone but themselves and live by their own set of rules. Consider them like the "Mad Max" players of the game. These players live outside the safety of the downtown gate area where the majority of the survivors are located. They choose to live in their own little area of the world where they do what they want. Killing Zombies, stealing supplies and resources by hijacking other survivor conveys, and killing other human survivors. So, as we said before, survivors won't just have to worry about zombies, but they will also have to deal with these outlaw groups. They will be more hardcore and rough around the edges than your typical game character.

Finally, the new area. We call this area "Outpost Z". This was an area that was originally set up as a refugee camp on the first days of the rise of the dead, but it was eventually overtaken by the zombies and destroyed. After some time, the zombies have migrated out and around the area, but it now has been reclaimed by the previously mentioned outlaw groups. It's similar to the downtown area, but it has a few surrounding points of interest that have been taken over by these guys and converted into areas for gambling, black market vendors,  zombie fight pits, distilleries, and just about everything that makes being a bad ass fun. Players that choose to venture to this area or try to join up with these players can expect to experience a very colorful and interesting environment.

I hope that everyone has enjoyed this latest developer log, and that you'll feel free to discuss it with our forum members. We do love reading your guys' posts and comments, so be sure to visit the forums. Until next time...

Charles "Relics" Terry
