Hey everyone,

I know your all just crawling out of your skin waiting for new updates and info about the game. With it being December, the last dev log of the year, and Christmas coming up, I thought that I would give you all some new info and a Christmas gift.

So, what's been going on. I can safely say this past few weeks have be insian for me. With the holiday's so close together, it seems that when you get into the groove of pushing along with everything, another holiday appears and your delayed again. It reminds me of why I like spring and summer. More time between the holidays. We've been pushing along with the creation of the areas that you will find inside the world. There have been several that have been discussed that I personally think are insane and when you see them, some of you are going to laugh and some of you are going to crap your pants. I wish I could tell you about one in particular because I just think it's a great idea, but I think what we are going to do is use it for one of the trailers you will see for the game. It will really set the mood for the game...

Outside of the world creation, we are still plugging away on different areas of the game. Character, crafting, and vehicle systems are always being hammered on. We are bringing on some new people to our team around the beginning of the year that are pumped up to get started. Some of them will be helping with animation, story development, and other world building items we still need done. So the new year ahead looks like it's going to be a fun year. Now to your questions from the forums and your x-mas gift.

Q: Has the year that this game takes place been decided?

A:Yes and no.... If your looking for an exact year, there really isn't one just yet. The best that we will say is it's going to be the present. We really don't say it's going to be 2006, 2010, or 3022. We are just planning it being the year that we launch the game.

Q: Will there be NPCs?

A: Yes, there will be NPC's in the game helping players with a variety of items. Some NPC's will be story NPC's, maybe some vendors, and some other tasks.

Q: What about weapon / item degrading and weapon jams?

A:
This is something that we wanted from day -1. Imagine that you've got a horde of zombies charging down at you and your friends or your backed into an alley. Your shooting for dear life and then your gun jams. Taking care of your items, weapons, and even vehicles will be something that you will have to do.

Q: Will there be other cities than just the one and rural areas planned (multi state/nation travel)?

A:
For right now we are just focused on the one city that we are working on with the surrounding areas. But.... I will say there are interstates in the game.... Maybe once they have been cleared, players maybe able to goto other survivor cites.... There have been communications with other survivor cities....

Q: Are their going to be limited resources in the game world therefore putting a large focus on a player crafting and bartering system?

A:
I just had to delete this paragraph I wrote to answer this question because I realized that I gave way way to much away. So, in order to answer this question without someone from the team killing me for spilling something I shouldn't, I can just say yes....... and that's it.

Q: Will there be voice chat?

A: This is something that is becoming very common in MMO's today. We currently are evaluating one such system right now and we do have plans for it. But we are working on a way of weaving it into the game that works and doesn't kill the environment or the player experience.

Q: Is there anywhere we can suggest ideas for the game?

A:
Yes. We have always welcomed the community to throw out ideas they want us to consider. Over time, we have enjoyed the fact that most ideas thrown to us is something that we considered or have worked into the game before Exanimus was even announced. We think this game is going to be something that everyone will enjoy. But, if you have an idea that you think we haven't thought of or want to discuss it with the community, we have created a new area in the forums to help everyone out. You can find it on the forums as "Player Submitted Ideas". Post your ideas there and everyone can check them out and discuss them...

And now for your X-Mas gift... We have decided to release a new image of the Zombie class of player. Something that you can expect to see from in the game.. We hope that you will enjoy it.
